Desperately in Love

Do you ever notice that most traditionally conservative Christian churches - I'm a Missouri Synod Lutheran - don't often use the name of Jesus? We all speak of God and Christ and even the Holy Spirit with ease, but when the name "Jesus" is mentioned, it's done so in hushed tones as if we fear that those who are listening will think either that we are being capriciously irreverent or that we are too charismatic for their tastes.

The name of Jesus should indeed be revered (in our minds as well as our mouths), but He wants us to call on Him by name. We are His beloved children. Look at to what great lengths He has gone to ensure that we have the right to be His equals!

I love the name of Jesus and I vow to make it a larger part of my worship time with Him.
